Bakery Recipes

Ingredients :

  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp dry yeast
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (400 g) warm water
  • 4 tbsp olive oil

Preparation :

  • Place 5 cups of whole wheat flour and half a cup of all-purpose flour into a large mixing bowl (reserve half a cup for kneading).
  • Add dry yeast, olive oil, and sugar on top of the flour.
  • Add salt to the flour portion, then pour in the warm water.
  • Knead the dough, gradually adding the reserved flour if needed to make kneading easier. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 50 minutes.
  • After rising, shape the dough into your preferred bread shape and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Let it rest for another 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Before baking, brush the top of the bread with water and make shallow cuts with a knife.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 50 minutes. Optional: sprinkle walnuts or sunflower seeds on top before baking.
